Day Five (Kristina Cole)

Today was a very eventful day for the Berea Festival Dancers. To kick off the day we had a service led by Tim L and we were all in our prarie costumes. After that we had a couple of injuries. It started with Anna with her foot, and then Katie tore open her cut when she was stepping up the stairs to get into the camper. Though they should recover pretty quickly. Then me and a couple of my friends went on a horse and buggy ride. And we got to go this really cute school house. Then the teacher mistook me as a dude. So that was an interesting time for me. Then at 7:10 we’re going to perform again for the pagent, so that should be fun. (the play was interesting too)

Day Four (Alyson Warren, Jonathan Taylor)

(Alyson Warren)
Today we left the KOA campground. We went to the Laura Ingles Wilder museum and performed. After that we went to a wind turbine farm and went inside a wind turbine. Then we went to the Laura Ingles Wilder homestead. I got to play with a 5 week old miniature horse, kittens, and bottle feed a calf.

(Jonathan Tayor)
After the wind turbine farm we went to the Schumeman Equipement Co. John Deere Dealership. Sadly, they would not let us drive the tractors, although we did get to climb in the cabs and look around. After that, we piled back in the cars to go to the Laura Ingles Wilder Homestead for the night.

Post delay

The internet at the Laura Ingles Wilder museum is pretty slow during the day, so I’ll try and post pictures and blogs later today when the people thin out. (I’m posting this on my phone). Please be patient.

Day Three (Katie Okumu)

Our next stop was Dyersville Iowa. Dyersville is home to the Feld of Dreams, the location of the movie which shares its name. We played an amazing game of baseball between the Salty Dogs (they were in the blue uniform) and the Irish Setters ( green uniform). Every Player had a turn to bat, and every member not in play was heard cheering loudly. A break was taken half way through to eat peanuts and crackerjacks while singing “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” at the top of our lungs. After that we headed to the KOA in MN where there A) lots of corn, and B) lots of swimming. We were all excited to have a long night of fun and free time before we departed to Walnut Grove to perform ALL DAY. We miss our Berea family. XOXO

As internet is being slow and picky, pictures will come later.

Day 2, Jessie Lawson

Sorry for no post yesterday, we didn’t have wifi.  This is yesterday’s post, and today’s will be put up later.  Sorry for the wait.

Today we drove for six hours from Avilla, Indiana to East Moline, Illinois!  Exciting, right?  A few of our cars took a break at a rest stop on our way here and there was a really fun teeter-totter that a bunch of us enjoyed spending our break on.  you’re never too young to enjoy playgrounds.  🙂  Yesterday Vicki’s truck got hit by another car.  No one was hurt (that we know of), and the truck only has some mild damage.  But, today, the same truck got a flat tire.  We have decided to name the truck BLT: Bad Luck Truck.  Even though nothing too exciting happened today, we are all still having tons of fun! The day is still not over- we have to practice some dances & we have a game planned. Pray I don’t fall asleep before it all happens!

Day 1 (Hope Tarter)

Today we drove to Indiana to stay at a Montessori school and dance for some of the students and teachers.  They cooked a great meal for us, which was a great for the cooks on the trip, cause they got the first night off.  During the rapper performance Emma ended up tripping and spraining her ankle.  Sadly she wont be able to dance for a few days.  Since Emma can’t walk back to the campers, a few of us are staying in the school. Send prayers this way! Goodnight!
